Gaucin is a classic Andalucian 'pueblo blanco' perched on the crest of the Sierra del Hacho and overlooking the Rio Genal below. The views from Gaucin are simply stunning in all directions, down to the Mediterranean Sea, the Rock of Gibraltar and across to Morocco.
Surrounded by olive and almond groves, the countryside all around is ideal for walkers, birdwatchers and nature lovers. On the major migratory route from Europe to Africa, many rare species can be seen including eagles, falcons, buzzards, vultures, golden oriels, finches and bee eaters.
There are so many places to see and activities to enjoy in the surrounding area:
San Luis de Sabinillas (beach) - 35 mins
Estepona - 40 mins
Ronda - 45 mins
Marbella - 60 mins
Tarifa - 75 mins
Seville - 2 hours
Granada - 3 hours
Getting to Finca Avedin
Gaucin is located in Southern Spain, with several airports nearby. We recommend flying to Malaga which is aprox 115km away - about 1.5 hours drive. We do recommend hiring a car for your stay and the journey from Malaga or any of the other nearby airports (Gibraltar, Jerez and Seville) is not hard.
